About Joel:

Joel was born in Omaha, NE on June 1, 1978. Outside of his life in Omaha, Joel has also resided in Los Angeles, California and Sheridan, Wyoming.

Joel sings and plays the piano with the heart on the sleeve. His playing style and singing voice is heartfelt and genuine, original and organic.

Presently, Joel performs at a number of senior living communities throughout Nebraska and Iowa. In addition to that, he performs at weddings and memorial services. Joel also performs our National Anthem for Creighton University Athletics as well as the Kansas City Royals.  In 2008, he was honored to be one of 17 selected to sing the anthem at the NCAA College World Series

Having a much later start than most to his career, it wasn’t until age 35 that Joel became a professional musician. An unexpected event occurred in April 2013 when his parents sold the house that he grew up in. They did not have room at their new residence for their upright piano they’d purchased in 1973 and offered to gift it to Joel.

A few months later, Joel was sitting at this piano with a fellow musician next to him. This musician friend of his randomly gave Joel a simple yet invaluable tip, regarding left-hand finger placement. This feedback given would soon turn out to be a life altering event. Shortly after, Joel began to witness thirty-five years of tinkering, suddenly begin to piece together like a puzzle. Developing the skills necessary to accompany his vocals with the piano was always a pipedream. It was now becoming a reality.

Joel is a self taught musician, never having taken piano lessons and he plays the piano exclusively by ear. His vision is to write music fueled by his faith and unique life experience. Joel possesses an unwavering determination to develop a following and tour, performing specifically at performing arts centers.

Joel’s family unit consists of his eighteen-year-old daughter, Avery, and their thirteen-year-old furry friend, an Italian Greyhound/Yellow Lab mix named Monk.
